Day 1: Taipei to Shanghai

Morning, I got rid of the rest of things, and had my friend picked me up to bicycle shop and airport. The staffs of the bicycle shop are so considerate that they kept my intact as possible as they could, so I will not have to do much assembling when I arrive in Anchorage. As the result, the box is so huge that my friend and I just couldn't put it into my friend’s sedan. So I went to airport to “steal” a wagon car, and pushed the huge box all the way to airport with the wagon car.

But my nightmare was not over yet. I have known that I have to transfer form Honqiao airport to Pudong airport(the distance between two airport is about 60km), and I thought all I have to do is to push my luggage to bus station and take the shuttle bus. But the airport is so complicated that it seems that no one knows how to get to bus station clearly. And most of time when I had to go up or down stair, I just could not find any elevator, so I had to drag the huge box go up and down. It took me 2 hours to get to the shuttle bus station.

Don’t ask me how to get to Pu-dong or Honqiao airport. The easiest way to transfer is never take airplanes that need to transfer from Pu-dong to Honqiao or Honqiao to Pu-dong!!

    1. Hi Richard, you're the first! I'm fine except for sore leg. Thank you for teaching me English for years, that helps me a lot now.

  2. Hi Sean,
I just watch a video of a guy who motorcycled from Alaska to Argentina. He used a video camera for a lot of the ride. It would be nice, but maybe not practical, if you could do the same. Here's the link if you can watch it.

I hope your leg recovers quickly.

    1. Interesting video. That is a good and cool way to share what happened on the road. Actually I have though about this idea. But unlike motorcycle, bicycle is slow so most of time is kind of boring and not worth sharing.

Now I am in Fairbanks. I will stay here for a few days to rest my legs, then head to arctic cycle a week later.
