Day 5: Anchorage

Today was a sunny day. I went to downtown to see what Anchorage look like in case someone asks me and I can’t answer. Hanging around for about 1 or 2 hours, I still couldn’t find anything that I am interested in and realized that I forgot I never know how to appreciate the beauty of city.
Anchorage is a friendly and quite city.
回到I met a wired guy when I was going to buy foods in Wal-mart in afternoon. He came up to me, shook my hand and said: ”I came back from Afghanistan.” I think he is trying to ask me to give him some money, I can’t give him money, so I just say: ”Sorry, I don’t speak English.” I found it really useful when someone keeps bothering me, but not to this weird guy. He keeps asking for cigarette. I tell me I don’t smoke, finally he give up and find another one to ask for money.

I’m going to leave here and head north, so I started to prepare my luggage. Before I went to bed, I gave one talisman to David and expression my appreciation. People who accept other’s help in the website like warm shower help other traveler when they are able to, I think I will do the same thing few years later. But I want to show my appreciation as soon as possible. So I asked my friend who is working in a temple to take these talismans for me. I think most of westerners like Chinese characters, this will be a good gift to give.

This time is not only the first time I asked somebody to let me stay at their places, but I have been staying for 3 days, which is the longest. I probably will keep trying to travel in this way.
