Day 8: ?? to Talkeetna

It was so cold that I woke up several times in mid night. I guess that because my old inflatable mattress doesn’t inflate well anymore. Spring in Alaska is cold, as cold as winter in Hokkaido, Japan. When sun went up, I tried to warm my body up, like a mongoose dose. Sunlight is a blessing to every creature on the earth.

My leg doesn’t go worse. But I don’t want to take the risk. The couple told me they could not host me this week, but their neighbor would like to host me. I got to Talkeetna by noon. An old guy (Jon) came up to me and said: ” you must be the Taiwanese.” Turns out he is the guy willing to host me.He used to ride a lot before he injured his knee, now he is doing paragliding. Jon is obviously an outdoor guy.

Jon brought me to practice paragliding, and showed me around. It’s the best day in this week. Traveling is full of uncertainty, and it is the uncertainty makes traveling interesting.
Enjoy the peaceful moment.
Jon is practicing paragliding.

A moose grown by Jon and neighbor. Back to ask for apples and carrots once a while.
